OMAR MOUFAKKİR (GULF UNİVERSİTY FOR SCİENCE AND TECHNOLOGY)

Dr. Omar studied in Morocco, France, the Netherlands, and the US, where he received a PhD. from Michigan State University in Park, Recreation and Tourism Resources. He served in several management position including, head of business department, director of tourism management institute, director of research center, and dean of research and continuing education. He is board member of highly ranked journal in the field of tourism, hospitality, and leisure. He is widely published. His edited books are Tourism, Progress and Peace; Controversies in Tourism; The host Gaze in Tourism; and Ideological Social, and Cultural Aspects of Event. His research interest revolves around the sociology of tourism and consumer behavior. He is now professor at the Gulf University for Science and Technology in Kuwait.
